Callan earned a spot on the podium ('podiumed') with the bronze medal in the Brazilian National Championship Continental Cup.
Callan flying! She advanced to finals in the World Cup (the field is cut to just the top 16) and was doing well in the first heat of finals, second to Lindsey Jacobellis' lead, when she suffered knee trauma and was unable to finish, resulting in a disappointing 16th place. She’s a casualty of Hurricane Ike with flights returning home through the Houston airport, so she’s a bit delayed. She’ll train in Colorado for a month with Coach Thedo and the Steamboat Springs ProAm team, and then the first North American Cup race on Nov 15th/16th. US Team Camp comes next, followed by the first of the Jeep King of the Mountain series in Telluride bringing the Paul Mitchell Leader’s bib back from its debut in Alaska, and the second World Cup in Switzerland.
Laying down a sweet carve, Callan shows how its done. |
